The sea bed :
The sea is one of Cape Verde’s principle assets, and the stunningly rich marine life which characterises the area is sustained by underwater reefs as well as the clean water and the high temperature of the sea, which oscillates between 21°C and 25°C. Non-migratory species worthy of note include sea-bream, blue fish, bonito, moray and monk fish, whilst migratory species include tuna, dolphins, whales, sperm whales and killer whales.
But Cape Verde is famous above all for its rich and varied sea food, which includes lobster and various types of crab and shell fish whose beautiful shells are coveted, along with coral, by collectors everywhere.
